Have you/would you ever tried to sing as a profession? I know that you sing professionally since you are in a band but is it something you would do for a living?

I have never found enough work to sing for my supper. At this point in my non-music career I have dug myself a little too deep to be able to make the necessary sacrifice to do so. It boils down to finances. Had I had the confidence 10 or 15 years ago and less pressure to succeed financially instead of the support to pursue that dream I sincerely believe I would be a successful player in the entertainment industry, either as a performer or an A&R rep.

This may change. My world has been thrown into a state where it wouldn't surprise anyone if I gave it all up and relocated to NY or LA to live in a broom closet while I tried to make a living with my voice.

Any luck on the hand on breast thing?

Sadly, no. It's not like I can walk up to some guy on the street and ask. This is Seattle -- they'd either jump at my chest like they were starving or think I was trying to steal their wallet.

For those of you wondering where this came from, I expressed a desire to be fondled this way because it seemed like what I needed at the time. I'm not saying I don't want it anymore, but I've pretty much given up on this ever happening before Summer.

[livejournal.com profile] sarekofvulcan decided to pull a fast one on me and asked this:
Considering Horatio Hornblower and Jack Aubrey are both based on the same real-life captain, which one is the better character, and why?

Horatio Hornblower -- because my daddy likes the HH stories and I've never heard of Jack Aubrey. This probably means I need to read more.

Just out of curiosity, where was the original post? I'm not quite desperate enough to go back through the calendar. :-)

It was f-lock posted on Thursday evening. You may have missed it because I put it behind a cut.

Jack Aubrey is the captain Russell Crowe played in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, based on Patrick O'Brian's series starting with M&C.

I... I had no idea they were the same character. I guess I'm going to have to see it and compare it with Mr. Fantastic's version of the captain. I learned something new today!

But they came from the same place (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Cochrane%2C_10th_Earl_of_Dundonald)...

Speaking of Mr. Fantastic...

Someone over on Naomi Novik's LJ suggested that when Peter Jackson does the Temeraire movies, they should cast Gruffudd as Will Laurence. Then in the fourth book, he can reprise his role as Wilburforce, and Temeraire can remark on their similar appearance. :-)

I almost died laughing, because I could just picture Temeraire looking confused and saying that....
