Ever play charades? I loved it when I was a kid. My cousins and I would play it on rainy days and have a blast. We all had a knack for pantomime, and because it was kind of an easy game for us we couldn't play without a long list of book, movie, and television show titles in the jar to choose from.

My husband was not so lucky. He has no knack for pantomime at ALL. He can't even read it well. This became a huge problem when I lost my voice early in our marriage and had to rely on simple sign language to communicate with him. The only signs that stuck were "toilet," "tired," and "go." We use these signs when we go out to a noisy club or a show. Poor bunny, he can't even pantomime "drink" right. It looks like he's combing his beard.

I'm sure he thinks I'm a big dummy when I don't get it, but that's fine. I find it incredibly funny. Just now he was walking around while talking on the phone and paused by me just long enough to pantomime "this thing goes over there and puts the cat on the printer."

Confused, I nodded in agreement anyway. Turns out he just needed to change a lightbulb in the other room. That needed pantomime?
