Garret pulled me out of bed this morning and dragged me to the dining room. Out the sliding glass door I could see two inches of snow accumulated on our back porch.

Snow. My car is parked out in this (instead of the garage). Shit.

I know it might suck for you but I WISH we had two inches of snow! I hate living in the south, the weather sucks.

I used to live in Birmingham and come to the Pacific Northwest in the summer to avoid the Southern heat. Winters... I could handle. It's not supposed to snow that much in Seattle (maybe once every six years, and even then not more than once or twice), and this is the third snowfall we've had since Thanksgiving. Weird!

Teamun is the right spelling -- he's named after my grandmother's cranky neighbor, T-man McCully. For some reason, the turtle had the exact same look on his face I often saw on that neighbor. It seemed fitting.
