(Hopefully) the last chapter on the router
Monday, 18 February 2008 17:36It's always something, and this time it's one little piece of information I should have brought with me to the office but didn't know I needed: The item number on the back of my CPU. This number verifies that I indeed bought my computer from Dell, and am entitled to the ethernet driver that is missing from it. By tomorrow night I will have internet access at home if I have to hold someone at gunpoint.
In the meantime this just tells me that the part of my brain that was a software tester for so many years has begun its downward spiral into atrophy. Now I'm all about diplomacy, beauracracy, and covering asses. Oh, and paperwork. God bless paperwork.
Tonight I am going to go to the grocery before I get home, feed the cat, and then paint the office wall. It will look lovely. Normally I'm not fond of accent walls and (despite my creative accomplishments) can't decorate my way out of a paper bag, but this is one thing I'm looking forward to. If there is paint left over I may use it on the closet in some way. Or not.
One day at a time.
