Well, not really *drunk* -- more like *buzzed*
One week to go before the last day. My interview on Tuesday went a bit easier than I expected. I walked away with very little dread, so I call it good. I worried a little the next day about whether or not I answered one question the way I should have. Project management isn't easy, but it's not software testing either. I'm pretty good with a group, getting attention, communicating thoughts, encouraging and motivating people. I hope I'm the person for the job. I really, really do.
In the meantime I'm scrambling to make this last week of QA the Best Thing Evar. I'm writing some documentation I should have started a long time ago, cleaning up my document share, and trying to touch base with the friends I made when I first got here so I don't just disappear on them. When the first contractors started leaving about a year ago, nobody bothered to give them a sendoff. Some actually just disappeared and nobody noticed. Big G (unlike the Evil Empire) does not bring contractors back after 100 days. They prefer to just hire new ones.
There's talk of having a "Drink of the Week"-type gathering in the office on my last day. I'm thinking of making a bluetini, but I haven't figured out the right recipe. There's one on the 'net that says 2 parts bluberi Stoli, 1 part vanil Stoli, and garnish with blueberries, but that one was a little too strong for me. I'd like to have a mixture of vodka, a splash of some other liqueur for color, and juice. I just don't think it's in me tonight to try another recipe. *hic*
Car goes in the shop tomorrow, bright and early. I hope they fix 'er up good. I need my baby Blazer!
