Is this wrong?
Monday, 18 August 2003 13:39There is down for a few days while they consolodate servers or something.
Man, I get hit on a LOT in There. It's amazing to me how easy it is to strike up a conversation and how quickly it turns to flirting. I stand off a bit because I don't want too much unwelcome attention--I'd rather be thought of as funny.
BUT, I have no plans on changing my avatar to anything other than the cute blue-eyed brunette with milky white skin anytime soon. Sure, I can make her have a big butt and chunk her up a little bit, but it's more fun to see what kind of reaction she gets this way. I'll post a pic of what she looks like as soon as I figure out my bandwidth issues over at wynnec.com.
So I'm on this Newbie tour, having a blast in an ancient Egyptian tomb when this other newbie guy comes up to me and says "wow, you look really good--I mean REALLY good," and starts making googly eyes at me with his avatar. I think I surprised him a little when I said "thanks! Your avatar is cute, too." At one stop on the tour we were all sitting in a hot tub while the guide taught us about in-game emotions and actions. By typing a certain phrase, your avatar can wave, wink, smile, frown, look confused or surprised, and kiss.
Yes, kiss.
So here we are, about a dozen newbies in a hot tub practicing all these new emotions on ourselves and each other. I was having a blast watching everybody, when Smoove B (not his real ID) comes sits next to me, tells me again how cute I am and puckers up. He looks kind of silly. So I laugh a little and say "what the heck" before smooching back. We're there for a good minute or so, and THEN the guide tells us to STOP kissing we need to use a whole other command. Oh. Okay.
So, I kissed a guy in There. He was probably some 13-year-old from Las Vegas or something, but I kissed him anyway. I'm just happy that most of the male avatars in There are nice-looking.
