Under the bed
Monday, 27 July 2009 20:27It's unusually hot here. Inside the house it got to a toasty 83, while outside it broke 90. Later this week will be hotter. Ethan's been doing his best to keep the place comfortable, since he has to spend the most time here during the day. Grady found the fireplace and found it a suitable replacement for the underside of the bed.
Tonight Grady did a little better with feeding. I only gave him about 2/3 of what he's supposed to get, mainly because I can't wrestle with him long enough to do it. Eventually he will learn to use his claws. The syringe is also a factor. I have been unable to get it to move easily, so now my wrist and forearm are screaming in pain. I did the vegetable oil thing and that didn't help. Adding water to the goo -- THAT helped. My arm is still sore, but at least things are moving a little easier now.
I worry that the little guy will begin to associate me with awful things. He will respond to skritches during feeding, and I'm grateful for that. He just really hates going through it. I offered him some kibble before we started and he gagged at it. So much for eating on his own anytime soon.
God, it's hot. I hate weather like this. I'd move further North, but then the Winters become unbearable as well.
