I tried to use a pediatric syringe to give him some kitten formula, but it made him gag. We will stick to attempting water for now.

The only thing he's responding to right now is attention. Typical.

he had some subcutaneous fluids given to him yesterday, but isn't accepting anything now. I tried to give him water with a syringe and then a straw, but he's having none of that, either.

I really don't know what to do.

I have personal experience force feeding cats, I can give it a try if you want.

How well did he handle the sub-q? Did he accept it grudgingly, or struggle like a weasel in a sack?

Very sorry to hear about all this - kitten food, if doctor approved, might be a way to tempt him into nibbling a bit?

Poor thing. I sure hope he does better. If he can /stomach/ food, we force-fed Jane by smearing gooshyfood into her mouth with a tongue depressor.
