Jezebel's banhammer has come down again, this time over a comment about Angelina Jolie looking old. If you look at the picture the comment is about, the first reader response is saying pretty much the same thing but without that nasty word "old."

I'm beginning to think the comment moderators over at Jezebel/Gawker are feeling the pressure of this crappy economy and uncertain job security. Why else would someone be banned so quickly over such a simple sentence?

Apparently it's only free speech if you agree with everybody. If you say something that inspires any kind of excited discussion, that's a punishable offense. Whatever happened to "don't feed the trolls?" Over at Jezebel, it's not their policy. You're there to have a tea party, and if you burp, you're banned.

Jezebel DOES have commenting guidelines, although from what I've read, that chick didn't violate them.

ALL of those Gawker-created sites share the same commenting guidelines. Jezebel seems to be a little more banhappy than the rest of them, and its readers more prone to ganging up on commenters with unpopular opinions. Compared to them, Fark is quite civilized.

But then again, I don't bother with Jalopnik or Deadspin.
