Curiosity getting the better of me here, why should you never eat tortilla chips? It could be completely obvious and be tied to your hatred of all things tonsils but I'm not sure!
For some reason, every time I eat tortilla chips some of it gets lodged in one of my tonsils. Not only is it gross, it's horribly uncomfortable and gives me keto-breath.
...but why do you need your tonsils? I had mine taken out at age 21 and it was the greatest thing - I used to have freaking tonsillitus and strept throat all the time and now I rarely even get a sore throat.
Tonsils act as a filter to keep certain microbial and viral illnesses out of your body. I've had tonsilitis more times than I ever wanted to, and each time I begged my doctor to just scoop the damn things out he gives me this explanation. It's considered an "unnecessary procedure," and insurance won't cover it if it's elective.
See above for the relationship between my tonsils and tortilla chips.
