fatrockstarI do not like Google.com's new predictable search box. This feature is great for YouTube, but I'm happier with a list of items I've already typed into the search box as Firefox has forced upon me. I turned off Google's feature, but that didn't bring back the Firefox feature. Damn.
Watched The House of Yes and was rather creeped out by it. Watched Semi-Pro and thought it was pretty fun. Got halfway through Diner and decided to stop it just before something happened that would keep me from sleeping. I'll get back to it in the morning. The point of the movie marathon was to get me away from the computer and doing something with my hands.
My clay is set up in the dining room. That goofy-looking bird creature is coming along nicely. I have no idea what I'm going to do with him once he's fully baked. Should I try to antique him? Should I give him actual COLOR? Hard to say. I'm letting him call the shots.
As for the other dragon I am doing my best to salvage him. He baked beautifully. I epoxied polished stones into his hands and then painted him white. It was the antiquing process that fucked it up. I don't know what went wrong -- there were patches of him that sucked up more color than others, and the whole point of the method I used was so it didn't look like I'd painted him in splotches of brownish black. I spent a week trying to peel/soak/scrape as much paint off of him so I could start over. I was not successful, and lost an arm in the process (his, not mine). He now has a new coat of white over what was left, and in a couple of days, after the base coat has cured completely, I will try to antique him again.
Three more positions applied for today. I had a phone screen this morning with a promising group that sounded like it was developing an interesting product/service. I'll probably know tomorrow whether they want to meet me in person or not. The recruiter connecting me with all these positions is working her butt off for me. It's been a while since I've had a recruiter go to bat for me like that. I will have to send her something if I land something before I go completely broke.
Grady has decided he would rather sleep in my computer chair than hang out with me somewhere else in the house. Tonight I thought he was wanting me to come to bed, so I got up and brushed my teeth, only to finish and realize he was not hovering over me like he usually does -- he had stolen my seat!
That's pretty much it. I have nothing really interesting to share with the world anymore. It's just me and my cat. Yay.
