This week has been songwriting, recording, and more recording. Tomorrow I will be playing at a corporate picnic with Keith and a few other familiar faces.

Today's recording session with Conrad Uno over at Egg Studio's in Wedgewood went well. He's a good person to work with, and when I'm not actually singing there are plenty of things in the booth and around the studio to look at. Michael is writing lyrics and letting us figure out the rest on our own when presented with them and the accompanying music. I'm not a fan of this method, but it's getting him the results he had hoped for, and it's sounding really good. Samantha Rae, the first soprano, has an amazing voice -- which is saying a lot because I am rarely impressed by voices -- and I recorded some very low, rumbly backing vocals for her today.

Afterwards Michael took me to get something to eat and drove me home. I'm amazed at how tired I am. Shortly after I sat down at my computer Keith started to call me five times. He's all worked up over tomorrow's gig and wants to make sure I have all the information I need to get where I need to be in the morning PLUS remind me to dress "cowboy" AND don't forget my sunscreen. After asking me three times if I would forward the gig info to Stuart, he eventually asked me to forward the gig info to everyone. I did. The email was forwarded with the note "Keith has called me nine times this afternoon. Please let him know you received this or I will KILL HIM."

It's been a day. Tomorrow will be tough for me, as I am not looking forward to singing four hours of Americana/Standards/Country covers. For some reason I agreed to do it, but I can't remember how or why.
