Grady is fed half a cup of dry food in the morning around 7 o'clock. In the evening he is given a tablespoon and a half of wet food and a little less than half a cup of dry food. When we feed him more, he only gains weight faster. This doesn't help his lingering hunger, though. Even though Garret fed him his evening meal, I'm the one Grady has been harrassing since 6 tonight.

Not only is Grady vocal, but any movement toward the side of the house where the kitchen is will get him excited, and he will run ahead of me, meowing as if to say "you've got it! The dish is THIS way! Follow me! I can lead you to the summit!"

Oy.

If I do not feed him, he will continue this behavior and add "chew plastic in plain sight of one of my persons because I know it makes them crazy." I do not know how to break him of this other than to give him more food.

Oh great. Now he's resorted to pathos. You know the "eyes" that Puss n' Boots makes in the Shrek movies? Yeah, that. Add a teeny little "mew?" and you've got it.

Shit. I'm just going to give him some dry food. @#!!

Oy.

One of our three is the same. The other two can free feed no problem, but not this one, so that means none of them can anymore. We put down food for them three times a day for about fifteen minutes or so. The normal two get fed in the kitchen from full bowls, the third has to be fed a portioned amount (probably about 3/4 dry per day total) while locked in the bathroom or he'll scarf it down and start on the rest. And man oh man, it just had to be the "talkative" one that wants fed all the time!

Of course, no need to say, he shouldn't be eating if he's too fat. The babe doesn't realise he's killing himself through food...
