Rock the Boat
Thursday, 15 March 2007 00:01I'm in Steamboat Springs now, updating on my cousin's eMac. The only complaint I have about it is the keyboard, but that's pretty much the only complaint I have about Macs, period.
The trip was great, actually. A college kid sitting in front of me pushed his seat back a little too far for me to be comfortable so I spoke up about it. His mother was sitting in the aisle seat across from him and looked like she was going to give me shit about speaking up, but I was just so gosh darn nice about it... The layover was a close call because we were late getting into Salt Lake City. I worried that my bags wouldn't make it, and they didn't. They missed the connection at the neighboring gate by ten minutes. Nathan said that happens to him all the time and not to worry. I got my bags delivered right before I was to turn in for the night.
Nathan's doing alright, fighting off a cold but otherwise just as I remember him from our family reunion in '05. He asked me if I was cool just chillin' out during my visit and I said sure. There are a lot of things to do and see here, but I don't want to restrict myself to a schedule. I just want to enjoy the day, look around, maybe throw a snowball or two. My only request was to have a steak and a cocktail on my birthday, which is easily done.
I brought some PS2 games with me for us to dink around with. So far the big winner is Katamari Damacy. Nate is a big snowboarding fan, so the game he usually plays is like that. It's fun to watch.
For now I'm going to enjoy being out-of-town. Out-of-town has tons of snow and friendly faces that understand that I come by my noisy wierdo tendencies honestly, which is a lot more relaxing than spending it around people I can't speak freely with.
