Sympathy pain

Grady stopped eating the night I first started hoarking. You know, I would probably have done the same -- I'm not very good at being sick, and between heaves I have this annoying habit of yelling "OH MY GOD" and "PLEASE FUCKING KILL ME." I don't puke well. I always wondered about those chaps in college who could have a conversation, say "excuse me," turn their heads to barf without convulsion or mess, then resume said conversation. It was like an art form. A disgusting art form, but something that took skill nonetheless.
I.. I just can't be graceful in that situation. It's too traumatic.
So back to Grady. He's been barfing and not eating all this time. I managed to eat toast on Sunday, and then graduate to a protein shake today. He's been fasting. We had some i/d prescription food unopened from the last time he pulled an "anorexia" on us as well as some anti-nausea, so we crushed up a pill and mixed it together. We waited all day for him to nibble at it. Half an hour ago I smeared some on his nose and he finally ate.
We're taking him to the vet tomorrow anyway. I don't understand why he does this, and I can't afford to spend $500 every six months because my cat won't eat. He never has any blockage, and he never has any poopie problems -- he just refuses to eat and would rather barf.
He's hanging out on the sofa now, chillin'. As he should be. Me, I think I can keep some Tylenol down now.
