fatrockstarI can't break away from The Sims this week. There's too much going on.
SimWynne is a "family sim" with no job (haha I just got that). SimGarret is a "knowledge sim" who just got promoted to Top Secret Researcher. Of their three boys, Woody is also a family sim. When they're kids you don't really know what "kind" of sim they'll be -- you choose that for them when they become teens.
Well, Alfred and Henry became teenagers last night. Mom & Dad threw them a pretty good party, complete with cake and a rented pinball machine. Henry was first. He transformed into a knowledge sim like his dad, a little gothy outcast, complete with matrix-inspired floor length black trenchcoat.
Alfred is more like Woody. Right down to his face & hair. Alfred transformed into a family sim, but unlike Woody he is not as outgoing. Woody is annoyingly outgoing. He does that two-handed pointing thing that outgoing partyhounds like to do. I think he even winks. Just like his mama.
Here are the twins pre-birthday. They're kinda cute, sittin' on the edges of their chairs. I can hear their excited chatter in my head as I watch them at the dinner table. Mama just sitting there, soaking it all in lovingly.
There's a story behind this post-birthday screencap. Henry was all sulky at the table until Woody brought up a crime story. Then Henry perked up -- wha? Tell me more! It was then that Mama interrupted them with "Why can't you boys just kiss girls like the rest of your friends?" Typical mom response. Sheesh mom. Girls aren't everything.
Life truly imitates art. SimGarret is sucking down espresso instead of eating. So much like the man himself.
There are a number of other silly little things I'm enjoying in this Simfamily. Shy Henry gets along much better with the girl Woody is pursuing than Woody does. You'd think that ol' Woodrow would get the hint -- she "just wants to be friends." Aaaaand they are really good friends. But she's not letting him kiss her. Alfred has tried but she slapped him. BURN!
