I got up early to go to a "job fair" at the Redmond UI office. What a zoo. The entire place was full of white men in suits, all of them older than me. It was like being at a dad convention. Once in a while you'd see a woman or some guy who looked like he wandered in off the street, but for the most part it was a room full of people waiting. The UI office wasn't equipped for a job fair. I stood in that room for two and a half hours waiting for my name to be called so I could talk to company reps that may or may not have a job for me. Was it worth it? Time will tell.

I did meet a handful of nice people. One was a career HR specialist who confirmed I was barking up the wrong tree by spending any time whatsoever with recruiters. I should have guessed it. He also gave me a tip regarding my APM interview this week that I'll do my best to handle with grace.

We may have a gig this Thursday. The drummer for The Twain has broken his foot, meaning they'll have to back out of their time slot at The Comet Tavern. Emails have been exchanged, and all we really needed to follow through is @#!! Ethan, who has been incommunicado (what a time to drop off the map, man!) He did appear just long enough to say "I'm in," and now all we have to wait for is The Comet to get back to us. For all we know, another band has been booked, but it's unlikely. We'd be playing with more rock bands of a metallurgic slant. How we manage to find ourselves in this crowd I don't know. Erg. Maybe we'll be first.

I haven't called the art studio yet. Once I'm done cramming my brain with PM fundamentals I'll do so.
