*public* New Girlfriend
Monday, 20 October 2003 12:55I haven't seen my dad in a while. I called last week to see how he was doing because I hadn't seen or heard from him in so long and discovered he has a new girlfriend. Living with him. In his house. With her two cats.
This is really odd for me, a lot of you will think I'm overreacting at all this but-- my dad is allergic to cats AND live-in girlfriends. The last live-in girlfriend was a complete wierdo who lived off her inheiritance and entered sweepstakes contests all day. The last cat that was welcome in my dad's home was Polecat, and he was pretty much a garage/outdoor cat. He had been dropped on his head when he was little and didn't know how to bathe. Luckily, he knew what a litterbox was.
So dad's coming to town with this new girlfriend. She has an appointment at one of the hospitals here on Tuesday morning, and dad has asked me to put his name down for a room at the University Plaza hotel. "King size non-smoking room, right?" because I always ask that even though I know the answer is always yes. But this time he said no.
Um...
So she moved in, has cats (plural), and smokes. I have a very uneasy feeling about this. Maybe I'm just being overprotective, but this particular choice of partners is really unusual.
I guess I'll figure it all out when they get here. *shrug*
