Good evening ladies and gentlemen
welcome to the show
we have a little bit of everything
for you tonight
from rock to blues
and funk to folk

It's okay to be curious
and want to know how we sound
we'll get around
hit the beat
with our bad self
sittin' on the shelf
waitin' til the right time
for every boy and girl
to make their way
in this wicked wicked world...

gah. I really want to not be tired in the evenings so I can actually enjoy something besides television before going to bed.

Cutting back on my intake is really hard--I love to snack but get tired of some things rather quickly. Like fruit. Last night I made a light dinner with a salad and then gorged myself on icewater for the rest of the night. My bladder woke me up at 3 a.m., but at least I didn't wake up feeling like crap for letting myself down.

Doesn't help that Garret decided to make ice cream on Sunday. It's really sweet, and he added crushed coffee Oreos to it. Deeelish. Lucky for us the ice cream maker doesn't hold a lot. That, and since he didn't whip the heavy cream into a thicker consistency first it's extremely rich and only really good in small doses.

I'll be re-recording voice tracks for 'Grow Up' tonight. The original vox were a scratch track for the drums and bass to work with. Johnny lays down the guitar first with a click track, and I guess it's bringing out the diva in him to be the first instrument to record every time. The third song is a tune the guys call 'Pearl Jam.' I have no idea why, unless it's because the song is incredibly brooding and monochromatic. I wish they'd come up with a new name for it, because nowhere in the song do I actually sing the words 'pearl' or 'jam.'

After practice Friday, I was helping Johnny load his stuff into his car and he started in on Peter again. I really like Peter. He's funny and full of spunk, not to mention really cute. I don't care if he's a good bass player or not--he tries and does the best with what he has. 90% of rock n' roll is attitude anyway, and once we start gigging the girls will absolutely love him. But Johnny is exasperated with Peter's 'lack of discipline' and comments that he doesn't think he practices enough at home. This might be an issue if the songs in question were solid, but they're not. The songs Johnny gets irritated with Peter on the most are the ones that keep changing for one reason or another.

...Back behind the skins, Jay only cares that we use the long-winded band name he's been campaigning for all along. I finally told him No. Think about it: It would inevitably get shortened to something. What would you shorten Uncle Pietro McWinston and the McWinston Brothers featuring Wynne Winnie McWinston to?

I have the audio tracks (still kind of unfinished) but need to convert them to mp3's before I post them. I'm a little squeamish about making them public when I have had very little say in how they're mixed. Johnny has taken it upon himself to do that, since the software and studio space is his. Jay mentioned that I would have the most to gain from finishing this demo. He's probably right.

I was just diagnosed with anemia (http://my.webmd.com/content/article/8/1680_54571.htm?lastselectedguid={5FE84E90-BC77-4056-A91C-9531713CA348}) last week, it totally explains why I was always tired, among other things. Have you had any bloodwork done lately?

I'm told it's fairly common in women.
