I applied for a PM position this afternoon with a team that's impossible to get into if you don't know at least three people. I figure it's better to aim for the stars and miss than aim for nothing and hit the bullseye. If nothing else, I'm sure my "supa-fly awsome kickass" resume will be good for a chuckle among the hiring managers.

I owe some people letters. I should get those out this week. If you want to start a snailmail correspondence with me, use my LJ email address to reach me and I'll send something out to you within a week or two.

My PS/2 port on my motherboard died today. I'm using a borrowed USB keyboard from Garret. He gave me a hug as he handed it to me. "Don't worry hon, we'll go out and get you a new one of your own soon." He's so funny. I'm irritated at having my keyboard port die, and I like getting hugs, but I'm not sure a dead keyboard port warrants a hug. Am I making sense here?

It's really warm here today. Parts of the region reached 100 degrees, I hear. Our thermostat boasted 88 degrees yesterday around 3 p.m. Last night I convinced Garret to go out on a drive with me and it cooled us both off considerably. I'm sure all the shopping centers are packed with people desperate for A/C. I'd be there now, too, if I wasn't feeling so gross and sweaty. Maybe I will anyway. We'll see. This time next summer we'll have central A/C. I'm not sure how much I care what it costs. This heat is unnatural for this area. I'm fine up to about, oh, 88 degrees, then I melt like the Wicked Witch of the West in a downpour.

Not a lot to post during the week -- things are about to pick up at work, so I won't be browsing the blogiverse from my work machine at all. This is the part I like about my job: Everybody is busy, doing, talking, documenting, coding, testing, all at once. I love the fray. And this week is going to be full of it.

You and me both, dear. Unfornunately, my dorm room boasts no such treats as an A/C. But I do have a huge window to open! IF I keep the drapes drawn, that is... Ah well, I melted a few weeks ago, I'm a constant blob of jelly still wobbling for some reason. ;D
