Still rockin.

I was out all day today. This week I made my membership to the Alliance of Technology & Women official, and this morning I attended an orientation for their 2006 mentoring program. Even though my mentor was unable to attend (meaning I didn't get to meet her), I met a number of interesting, intelligent, experienced women in my field. The mentor I was unable to meet, well, she might as well have a crown and a scepter -- her credentials blew me away. Maybe it was better I didn't meet her in my weekend uniform of jeans and a sweatshirt...
My voice was hoarse for most of today, but I figured out why. I'm not really straining it, it's a combination of the cold Garret gave me and me being lax in taking my stomach meds. I honestly haven't been talking a whole lot, and I've taken it pretty easy when it comes to singing. Since I started getting goofy about my diet and weight, though, my meds haven't been getting in me. I also haven't been resting/sleeping much while Garret is sick. It was only a matter of time before it got to me, too.
Pinpointing the cause of my voice problems has been a concern of my bandmates as well. They'd like to see this outfit have some longevity, and that won't happen if I continue to have issues like this. I need to get my weight, my diet, and my meds under control, then find a good vocal coach. This means resuming gym time, no matter how much I hate the Gold's Gym in Kirkland. Maybe I'll throw in a regular fortnightly massage appointment, too. Working at Big G has its perks.
I'm going to either sleep and/or shop all day Sunday. That is all.
