Today's workday was topped off by acquiring the Win32\Valla.2048 virus, which proceeded to attack as many *.exe files as it possibly could before rendering my work machine useless after reboot. I can't pinpoint what in the world let this vile thing through, because it could have been Outlook (I had just opened an old email to forward it), the bug database (open), Trillian, or The VH1 Radio station that was playing.

My money's on the VH1 Radio. The warning messages started shortly after a certain song began playing. I didn't recognize the song and wasn't looking at the player, so I don't know what it was. I should write to VH1, but what are they going to do? Run a virus check on all their music files? There must be a billion of them!

In the morning I have to prepare to re-image this machine, because I don't think my virus protection software was able to recover any of the infected files. SUCK!
