It starts!

fatrockstarWe began packing this weekend, right after we gave notice to our landlord. For a little bit there we thought we might get a break on the lease penalty since we're breaking it to buy and not rent elsewhere. My landlord did the research, and it looks like we're out of luck. Someone is going to have to move in here shortly after we move out, or else we pay rent until the lease is up!
We were supposed to show the place today, but the lady backed out because she didn't think she could afford it. Was it something I said? She drove by the day before and caught me unloading boxes from our parking space closet and asked me a few questions. I said a lot of nice things, mainly that it's a shame we're giving up the view, but I guess it just wasn't going to happen.
The next prospective tenant will arrive on Wednesday. Now the only challenge is to keep the place looking only slightly disorganized until then. Right now if we could just keep the amount of packing chaos the way it is until then, we may have someone move in for December.
If that doesn't pan out, feel free to spread the word. The place is about two or three blocks from Juanita Beach in Kirkland. It's got these huge windows that overlook a fantastic view of the beach, a large kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, W/D, D/W, disposal, microwave, a fireplace, and one covered parking space. 1200 square feet! Cat friendly.
Until then, the place looks pretty good. We did a lot of cleaning and compartmentalizing in order to showcase the space that's here. The bathrooms are clean, the kitchen counters hardly have anything on them anymore... There's a couple of weeks left to go before we MOVEmove, but getting a head start is worth it.
