fatrockstarThis whole house business is becoming frustrating. As much as I'd like to buy this house, the seller is being a freak, our loan officer is not being terribly helpful OR forthwith, and we are at risk of emptying our savings on closing costs. We still don't have our Good Faith estimates from the mortgage company and it's pissing us off. If the seller shortens ONE MORE THING, I will insist on his FBI file. I've been told that most houses close in 30 days, not 10.
Inspection is Friday. There are two major items up on the block: The roof and the hot water connections. The seller has only owned the house for a couple of years and claims ignorance of any roof problems, but it's pretty old and worn. It will need a full replacement which will run about $10k. The hot water is not so expensive to repair. I've been letting Garret drive the deal because he's been so good with it -- he doesn't confuse me with too much information and lets me ask questions when I have them since I'm under a lot of stress anyway -- but even he's showing signs of wear. His dad has been very helpful, and will be there with Garret when the inspector shows up to examine the property.
Okay, so maybe this isn't our starter home. I was hoping it would be. It still could be, but at this rate I just want to grab someone by the collar and say "look, Fucko..." One day at a time. We're all doing the best we can.
