My husband agrees with you. Unfortunately, I don't put my feet up -- the coffee table is just another surface that collects stuff and has to be moved when I want to stretch on the floor. :(

For about five years now, we've substituted two small, wheeled tables with storage, for a traditional coffee table. bq can pile whatever crap he wants inside of his, so long as the top remains clear. They're also easy to move to clean or clear space. Just a thought.

Perhaps I can convince G of that option. The coffee table we have now is also rather clunky.
