sucked in.
Saturday, 3 January 2004 00:32We got a GameCube. Bought Animal Crossing for it. We already have a PS2 with at least 12 games. Now we have a subscription to Gamefly, and they'll just keep sending us games, just like Netflix does...
Animal Crossing: Wasted over an hour on the tutorial. I think I'm still in it. It's cute, but I have to mute it lest I hear those little tinkly voices in my head while I'm trying to fall asleep.
Final Fantasy X-2: I really wasn't interested because I, well, just wasn't interested. Garret says "nononono! This one is different!" I'm not seeing a whole lot of different here, pal. It's just like FFX, only the characters get to change clothes and you can't just sit in battle for five minutes while you take a potty break.
I did Jak & Daxter all the way through with his help, and Kingdom Hearts on my own, but I'm just not a video game person. I barely play with my Sims anymore. He thinks it's funny that I have a timer by my computer and will only play or surf online for an hour at a time. Sorry hon, I'm just not strange enough to make playing these fantasy games my life. Call me when you're feeling up for some Rummy, Scrabble, or Trivial Pursuit.
--------------------
I'm also getting a little wierded out by all the low- and no-carb diet "crazes." There's got to be a saner way to lose weight. I can't help but think in the long run I'm doing more damage to my body than good. Yeah, it feels really great to be smaller, but what am I doing to myself?
I chose the South Beach Diet because it seemed sane. There weren't any real restrictions past the first two weeks. I'm still trying to figure out what kinds of carbohydrates I can eat without stalling or reversing my weight loss. I've found that if I avoid any of them after 3 I'm okay. Exercise is helping.
Last time I went out with my sister-in-law, she talked about the low-carb store over on the Eastside. Her impression was that everyone shopping there was entirely way to excited about Atkins. Oh, and they all had horrible breath. I feel like I'm backsliding on my diet a bit, mainly out of boredom. I really don't like salads that much and can't muster up enough creativity to make them interesting. Garret never tells me when we're out of the good salad dressing either (@#!), so I'm a little discouraged.
Oh well, here's my wagon... I'd better hop back on it.
