just got that pug from the shelter last monday. he sheds. he's remarkably agile for a smallish dog. this guy needs to learn manners and we also need to retrain humans to push chairs under the table, however, I feel sure this is a matter of his having been a street dog for some time prior to our adoption. they're supposed to be somewhat resistant to training, but don't seem to need much, as they exist to please. that's about all I can tell you at this juncture. cute as hell. stay tuned.
Go pick up a copy of "The Other End of the Leash".
Dogs do not "exist to please" and training will go a lot more quickly and smoothly when we understand that fact. It's amazing how many things we misinterpret from our dogs and they from us. It's a great book.
