fatrockstar...this whole "boycott gasoline for a day" thing has got to STOP. Every time I get one of these emails the first thing that pops into my head is "I'd better go fill up the day before." Sadly, this is what goes on in everyone else's head, too.
The only way a gas boycott will have the slightest bit of impact is if we go without buying gasoline for seven days or more. Retailers calculate sales on a weekly basis, so if everyone boycotts for one day, but fills up on the day before or after, there is no real impact. So unless you're prepared to go without filling up your car for more than a week or even longer, there ain't nobody that matters who is gonna notice.
I refuse to buy gasoline for the rest of the month. If I can stand it, I'm going to try to extend that into June. I've got a bus pass, I can get around.
Rethink the gasoline boycott. You might as well sit on the sidewalk and pout.
