Grady hasn't been eating much. I know he's been eating, but it hasn't been his usual volume. I'd be more concerned if he was also inactive, but he hasn't slowed down. He's noticeably lighter and smaller from this. It doesn't seem right, but then again, he's always been a little porky.
Wet food might get sniffed and licked. Dry food is pecked at and sometimes batted out of the bowl onto the floor. A week or so ago Ethan took pity on him and gave him some sliced turkey. Grady ate about half and didn't touch the rest. I have tried to give him turkey again with no success. I put out fresh wet food every night and it's still there in the morning.
Tonight I gave him tuna. Of course he ate it. Not all of it, but he ate more of that than anything else put in front of him. I can't feed him tuna all the time, can I? It can't be tuna-flavored food, either. It has to be the real deal. I saw some "tuna for cats" at Trader Joe's and thought that might be a good idea. It's a million dollars a can, though.

The suburban rednecks have begun Independence Day season with the annual Celebration of Open Fireworks Stands at The Supermarket. This will go on through Monday, and eyes and fingers will inevitably be sacrificed to appease the gods. It is their way. I do not question it.
Grady will take it all in stride like he does every year. I will crack windows at the front and rear of the house so he can run back and forth sniffing gunpowder and excitement, eventually getting bored of it and becoming annoyed. That's my boy.
