Our set was well-received and we had fun. We went on first with the intention of leaving early so we could get some sleep. To be honest, we didn't know what to expect from the other bands other than "metal." It's frustrating to be a pop band in a metal town. The other bands were very complimentary of our set, though. We made friends with that set.
Stabbingback won the round, and rightly so. They're the kind of band that gives 100% of their time and energy to their music because it IS their day job. And, as Ethan pointed out, they did have a gaggle of girls dancing and flashing their boobs during the set. I'm no expert on their flavor of metal, but I do know a well-rehearsed band when I hear one. They were it. Offstage their frontman was quite the comedian and a fun guy. ON stage was a different story altogether. If you check out their tracks you'll get it. Night and day, man... night and day.
Hills of Elysium canceled, which was disappointing, but someone else did an acoustic set instead. We were being interviewed and didn't get to hear any of it. She seemed nice, though.
At any rate, every band there was full of friendly, fun people, everybody had a great set, and I have this odd compulsion to tell you all about Juda's Wake, three of the nicest guys you'll ever meet in metal. Laurel said I was flirting with them so hard that she thought I was going to hump one of them. Maybe I was. I can't help it, I'm a sucker for muscles and a flying "V" guitar.
