A couple of months ago we got these great Dell UltraSharp flat screen monitors. They're really nice--clear, no flickering, save space, etc.

So tonight for the first time since we got these monitors I decided to put together a new splash page for my website. This meant creating a character in another program, doing a screen capture (select screencap from menu, save as bmp coz it's the only option), and then opening that screencap in Photoshop for retouching. I have never had a problem doing this before.

Tonight I open my screencap and it looks washed out and the colors are really distorted. Kind of like a Polaroid just before it finishes developing itself--not quite the color you took the picture of, and there's a little too much flash.

I'm beside myself--I can't use my screencap at all if Photoshop is just going to screw it up. What if it's not Photoshop, but SimPose that's the problem now? I can't think of what could have happened. Any other Photoshop users out there got an idea of what went wrong? Are the display drivers on my new monitor to blame?

Thanks in advance.
