Tickle in my throat

Yesterday I developed a dry itch in my throat that made me cough. I have a show this weekend, so this is not good. I need to call this thing down pronto. So far the only thing that has accompanied it is a threatening runny nose.
I did the zinc, have been drinking tea with honey and lemon, and all my vitamins have been taken, but I need to nip it in the bud. If you have suggestions on how to stop this or make it progress to the point I'll be okay by Saturday night you have my attention.
