Grady visits Dr. Vaughn DVM
Thursday, 23 July 2009 10:47Grady was transferred to SVS this morning to see an internist. It was obvious that the overnight stay did him some good - he was alert and affectionate, but calm. He needed much more than I could give him at home. Letting him stay overnight was the best choice.
Dr. Vaughn examined Grady and was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done to treat him. Right now it looks like lipidosis (fatty liver disease), but they will need to do an ultrasound to rule out cancer or another problem. A feeding tube will follow. Grady was surprisingly calm through all this. Is he feeling that much better, or is he getting used to this environment? He only growled once, and that was when they took his temperature (understandable).
Here is my little buddy as I found him this morning, with an IV in his arm and a few bald spots. He's so brave!
