Shows Shows Shows
Monday, 27 April 2009 13:06The open mic at Microsoft went well. I may have gained a few fans there. A lot of nice people came up to me afterwards and said they liked my set. Even more bought copies of the compilation CD's we have a track on. 21 tracks for $10 is not a bad deal.
The money we made from the show and CDs will go directly into the album fund -- something we're long overdue for, and I want it done professionally. We've been fortunate to have some good recordings and the flexibility to record whenever, but when it comes to the finished product I want the best sound possible.
Part of my weekend was spent at a birthday party for DJ Spire, a.k.a. Jake Perrine. Jake is a producer that has said he can work with our home-grown tracks and help us complete an album. I have no idea how much money he charges, but I want to have at least $300 to start with. Jake's birthday party was awesome, and I may have made a few new friends there. I'll call him this week and see if we can arrange some studio time. I just need Ed to get his bass going.
I was hoping for an All-Troublefaker disk to sell at the Mars Bar show, but it looks like it will be closer to the Skylark show. We'll see.
