Planning for PAX 08
Tuesday, 29 April 2008 21:25On my way home from work today I stopped by the grocery store for Allison. She's been out of commission for so long because of her broken foot she hasn't been able to grocery shop. Some cat kibble and comfort food and a visit was helpful. I like Allison. She's a huge improvement over Jennifer. Her flaws are more a side effect of experience than immaturity, which is something that I need right now.
So I've already bought my weekend pass to PAX and Allison has agreed to come with me. I need to figure out how to get her registered without everything under my name. I'm also wondering if I should book a room downtown by the convention place. While practical, it also screams "NERRRRRRRRRRRRRD" to me. I've already experienced the whole "con" thing and didn't like it at all. PAX falls under that umbrella, though. Who knew ten years ago that a square like me would get excited about a video game conference? I'm still a square. I'll probably show up in business casual while everybody else runs around dressed as Judy Nails or Leeeroy Jenkins. I'm fine with that.
If anybody else is thinking about traveling to Seattle to take part in this I might be motivated to book a room. Heck, I might even participate in the Omegathon. I know for sure that I will stick around for any nerdcore shows (unless it's Freezepop -- they suck live).
