Things to do and who to do them with
Saturday, 8 March 2008 19:30Got up late, tried to watch "2046" before I walked back to Blockbuster to return it. I had high hopes for it, but it wasn't interesting enough for me. It moved very slowly, and the interesting parts triggered a lot of rage I thought I had gotten past. I shut it off and put it back in its case. I was done.
Shortly after that Amy called and asked if I'd like to go run some errands with her and the kids. I waffled a little, but she knew my car was in the shop and tempted me with "don't you want to go to the grocery store? You could bring home the heavy stuff in my car..." She was right. I agreed and went to get ready.
As I prepared to wash my hair in the bathtub, I noticed there was a LOT of cat hair in it. That's odd. I realize the tub hasn't been used in a very very long time, but it has been cleaned thoroughly and shouldn't have cat hair in it. Unless... why would Grady be in the bathtub? Just throwing that out there. It was very odd.
Amy's children are four and two years old. They're a kick. They call me "Miss Wynne" and say "please" and "thank you." They're still kids and do things kids do, but they were a lot of fun. I like kids. I like these kids. They taught me how to strap a wiggly toddler into a car seat.
Shortly after we arrived at our first stop Stuart called. I told him where I was and he said he'd call me back later. I'm still waiting... I bet the phone will ring right after I hit the "post" button. It would be nice to visit with him again. Maybe we'll go for a walk or something.
Now I have groceries. As I unpacked them I realized I didn't bother to get any of the heavy stuff Amy had tempted me with to go out. I even had a list, and I didn't get stamps, either. I did none of the important things I needed to do. Ah well. It was a good day anyway.
