Meh.

This is why I don't belong to any online Pagan communities. I think I would rather go to church than deal with a bunch of people on the internet intent on telling me I'm doing it wrong. Spirituality is personal. Religion is social. While I like gathering with people for a common goal, when I do that I'm not involved to be scrutinized. I'm there for support and friendship.

I'm not sure how that's any different from my presence here at LiveJournal. It's probably because the common interests have more to do with fun and social issues than spiritual ones. That's just a guess. The support, feedback, and high-fives I've received here have been a great experience.

Don't panic. I'm not going anywhere.

Things are okay. I am biding my time. My dosage has changed, and after a week or so the side effects should lessen quite a bit. I dropped two more pounds. I hope that side effect doesn't go anywhere, because I like feeling full before I'm overstuffed, which is what has been happening. I'm becoming one of those flabby thin people. Ew. I'm okay with that for now -- I don't have the time or money to get another gym membership. I have an Xbox fitness game I'm trying out, and every fifth DVD in my rental queue is an exercise one.

Big show this week. We're booked with a handful of metal bands. Again. Ethan says that's normal for local pop bands because there aren't many of us. "Think of it this way: The audience can actually order drinks when we play," he says. If you're up for punishment, here's the deets:

The Mainstage Comedy and Music Club (Queen Anne across from Key Arena)
Battle of the Bands Semifinals
Wednesday, August 8, 2007
8 p.m. $5

Hills of Elysium will be there, they're pretty good actually (although they gig twice a week, and I wonder how they keep their draw by playing so often in town). Stabbingback and Juda's Wake are also supposed to be there. We have no idea when we go on until we get there because the organizers want us to draw numbers out of a hat. What is this, open mic? None of us are looking forward to this show, but the experience is important, so we'll be there.

But yeah, I'm okay.
