Good-bye to a dear friend.
Thursday, 23 February 2006 23:28Duane Allen Mathews, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away February 14, 2006, in Vancouver, WA.
Duane was born in Eugene, OR, on September 24, 1969, to Clifford (Yvonne) Mathews and Kandace (Blaine) Jones. Brothers and sister, Tony (Kari) Mathews, Aaron (Felicia Colbert) Jones, Nicole Jones; stepbrother Tony Windle, and stepsister Cindy (Windle) Miller and families. Grandmothers Pauline Mathews and Brenda Walicki. Nephews and niece Andrew, Braden and Elise Mathews. Uncles Doug, Steve and Robert Mathews and Gregg and Kerry Walicki and families. Lifelong friends Martin/Heidi/ Kelsey Slagle and special friend, Tasha Simenson.
Duane graduated from Kamiakin High School in 1988. He was assistant manager at Clearwater Cinemas, Kennewick. He was assistant Manager at Suncoast Video, Vancouver, WA. In the last four years he worked as a customer service representative for ACS in communications at Portland.
Duane's greatest joy was being with his many, many friends. His hobbies included clowning, gaming, theater and his everlasting love for the Greenwood Faire and participating in the live chess game. The peasant with the huge mallet and a big heart.
A memorial service will be Thursday, February 23, 2006, at West Highlands United Methodist Church at 2 p.m.

I went to high school with Duane. He was the only person from my graduating class who stayed in touch with me over the years. He was such a goofball, but every time he talked to me he was my biggest fan. I'll never forget that, ever. I miss him.
