sleep problems, part 6
Tuesday, 27 January 2004 09:28I forced myself to go to bed early last night and it took me a while to fall asleep. There's something about lying in bed in a dark room that makes me think about all the things that bother me intensely. After much focusing I finally drifted off.
Garret didn't come to bed until much later. I woke a little bit when he climbed in bed, but not enough to be problematic. That came later.
Around 5 this morning, Garret turned over and made a growling cough noise in my ear loud enough to wake me up. It scared the shit out of me to the point where I started to cry. I was pissed off that all he did was roll over onto his back, but managed to fall back asleep.
Between then and 6 I was elbowed in the face twice before I finally turned away from him. His breath was stinky anyway -- I'm not sure why I didn't turn over sooner. Once my back was toward him and I had fallen asleep again he planted his forearm square between my shoulder blades and wedged himself there. Pissed off thoroughly I squirmed violently and yelled "STOP IT!" He rolled over. I wanted to beat him.
My alarm went off at 6:30 and I felt like I hadn't slept a wink. I'm still groggy. Garret doesn't understand why I'm irritated at him because he doesn't remember anything. Fucker.
