Sunday, 16 November 2003 12:15The only thing I haven't been able to do is get this Queen mattress out of my apartment and into my storage unit. If I had that done, I could move my operations from the mega walk-in closet to the guest room, where it would keep my computer company.
The Flylady thing has been really helpful. I'm not following ALL the reminder emails, but most of them. Okay, just some of them. I find myself cleaning and organizing when I'm bored on the weekends mostly, and doing the 15-minute burst of tidyness during the week. Looks like it's working. Even more so since we removed the dense hairball from our vacuum cleaner.
I can now access the craft table in my mega walk-in. Since I can do that, I've been able to clear the workspace so I can start my holiday projects.
The wedding crap that has been crammed into closet shelving since last December has been sorted through and packaged into a nice Rubbermaid tub. I hadn't realized how much of that was stuff I couldn't use and didn't want to keep anyway. I have two reams of fancy cardstock I have no idea what to do with. Oh, and THAT's what I did with those wedding gifts I had no desire to keep. Some people, their heart's in the right place... god bless 'em. Word to the wise: If you don't know the couple, stick to the registry--they'll appreciate the gift more.
The big stressor now is just getting Garret to pick up after himself. He's getting better about things like dishes, and he's starting to "make the bed" on some mornings, but we still have a papasan chair in the living room no-one can sit in because it's full of his crap. If I ask him to clear it out for company, he throws it all on the floor, missing my point entirely. *sigh*
Have I mentioned I hate Final Fantasy XI?
Holidays are coming, and I have almost all of my craft supplies and baking ingredients collected (except I can't find Dk Green Candy Melts ANYWHERE -- @#!!). I'm going to start making dipped pretzels and truffles in December. I'm hoping that most of my holiday crafts will be done by then.
All I have to do now is resolve this stupid Ortho-Evra problem and things will be comfortably close to normal for me.
