Grady visits Dr. Vaughn DVM

Grady was transferred to SVS this morning to see an internist. It was obvious that the overnight stay did him some good - he was alert and affectionate, but calm. He needed much more than I could give him at home. Letting him stay overnight was the best choice.

Dr. Vaughn examined Grady and was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done to treat him. Right now it looks like lipidosis (fatty liver disease), but they will need to do an ultrasound to rule out cancer or another problem. A feeding tube will follow. Grady was surprisingly calm through all this. Is he feeling that much better, or is he getting used to this environment? He only growled once, and that was when they took his temperature (understandable).

Here is my little buddy as I found him this morning, with an IV in his arm and a few bald spots. He's so brave!

Brave little camper! Glad he did well and the fluids helped him. :D

Here's hoping the news is all good.

He looks good. Glad to hear that the overnight stay was good for him. I hope that the test results come back with better news. Thinking of you both!

My cat Pretty Lady had fatty liver disease once (that's where I learned to force feed), she recovered and lived many long happy years after.

You can do it Grady!!

fatty liver disease is totally treatable...we had a vet try and convince us to do an $1,100 surgery and when i asked what the other option was, she said "force feed the cat until she eats on her own". the end result was essentially the same.

love to you and grady...sick pets are such a stressful thing to go through :(

Bright Blessings on both of you :>
