Okay, I really want to know:

How in the world can one be aware of the LotR trilogy and NOT know the gist of the ending? It's about a ring, right? They have to destroy it, right? They spent millions of dollars making the movies, right? How ELSE could it have turned out?

Holy geez, people. I'd hardly call that a spoiler.
