Tales from the Storage Locker: Days of the Cassette

I found this case as I was going through my extra boxes. I don't think I've opened it in ten years, and certainly not since I replaced the stereo in my car with a cd player. Carry cases like this are definitely relics now, but I remember how important they were during Cassette Days.

Not all cases were created equal, either. Some were designed in such a way that if you didn't put the case in just right it would stick out or break. My dad had an awesome hard case for his. I coveted it.

I only have one cassette player now, and it's in my kitchen. I listened to Duran Duran a few days ago and it took me back quite a ways. A mix tape took me back to my first semester at WSU. I found a homemade case sleeve that took me to the summer of '87 with my first live-in boyfriend.

What are your Cassette Days memories?
